Professional Experience: With eighteen years of design and project management experience, largely in the commercial market, Janice’s background is diverse. Projects range from renovation of Class A and B common areas to tenant improvements for a multitude of industries to high-end residential design. A major emphasis of her career is the design of specialized dental practices around the United States, including endodontic, pediatric, oral surgery, orthodontic, periodontic, prosthedontic, and general dentistry practices with a cosmetic focus.

Ms. Thayer founded Signature Environments, Inc., in 1996 to create a firm focused on carefully listening to each client’s professional and personal life goals and finding optimal solutions for their investments.

Working closely with clients, architects, contractors and consultants, Janice is known for her creative, highly detailed, and comprehensive study of each client’s individual aesthetic and functional requirements, while utilizing the strengths of all team members throughout each project. These strengths, combined with her communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and sense of humor, have earned the trust and satisfaction of her clients and their confident referrals.

Ms. Thayer holds a BFA in Interior Design from Cornish College of the Arts and has taken continuing education courses related to building construction and barrier-free design codes, lighting design, and computer-aided design. She lectures annually to graduating dental students on the importance of dental office design and functionality and has been a featured “expert” on panels at the Washington State Dental Convention.
